Our Solar System

The Helical Model-Part One
Made with 3DsMax. DjSadhu
The maker of this video acknowledged he messed up two of the orbits but it’s still a spectacular model to watch.
It seems so calm, (except for weather) on the surface of the Earth and too easy to forget that we are flying through space at phenomenal speeds as we sit reading this post.

“It's a brilliant surface in that sunlight. The horizon seems quite close to you because the curvature is so much more pronounced than here on earth. It's an interesting place to be. I recommend it.” Neil Armstrong

The Helical Model-Part Two

Made with 3DsMax. DjSadhu
In this second video the publisher had to speed up the rotation of the planets in order to show motion. The planets would be invisible if this was to scale.
“Mystery creates wonder and wonder is the basis of man's desire to understand.” Neil Armstrong
Things become much more amazing and even smaller as we take in the overview.

The Solar Systems Motion Through Space

This simple animation was created by Nassim Haramein and The Resonance Project Foundation.

The solar system is something that every person should have some knowledge about. With all of the budget cuts in schools and the space race at a stand still, it’s a wonder that kids learn even the basics about science and our place in it.

“There's a need for accepting responsibility-for a person's life and making choices that are not just ones for immediate short-term comfort. You need to make an investment, and the investment is in health and education.” Buzz Aldrin

This video shows the motion of our planets around the other planets, and the sun in our solar system. Watching these, it’s easy to imagine how one small meteor in the right place could really cause some major problems. Not just like the one over Russia recently, but much more sinister.

These videos were made to attempt to represent a view from space that we will never hope to see in our lifetimes. By learning about our solar system we stand to gain so much about something we really know so little about, and think about even less.

By now most of us know that we have to clean up the planet, that more animal species are becoming extinct in our time, good jobs are hard to come by, the pope stepped down from office early, and Beyoncé lip synced at the presidential Inauguration.

What do we really know about the one thing that makes everything else possible? Only one planet; planet Earth. It’s all we have.

The astronauts train so that everything they have to do in space becomes a mote point. Every action is planned and practiced until it can be done automatically, like breathing itself. The one thing they weren’t planning on was the extreme feelings of how it felt to be looking at our solar system from space. The Overview Effect.

“We can continue to try and clean up the gutters all over the world and spend all of our resources looking at just the dirty spots and trying to make them clean. Or we can lift our eyes up and look into the skies and move forward in an evolutionary way.” Buzz Aldrin

I think we owe it to ourselves as a race of “intelligent” beings to get more educated and aware of what each of us can do to make this a better world for all.

“Problems look mighty small from 150 miles up.” Roger B. Chaffee

  1. Find you...
    Hugs kisses Night Lady

    1. You did indeed find me Night Lady! Thanks for joining up even though it's a scientific site I'm glad to see other women here. Who says women aren't interested in Science, not me. Much thanks for becoming a follower, I sure need them here. Our universe is beautiful, isn't it? XOXO

The Overview Effect refers to learning firsthand, the reality of the Earth in space from the astronaut's point of view. Thanks for stopping by; your comments are greatly appreciated and may your view be an Overview.
